Dear SEES Families,

As I wrap up my third week as principal of this amazing school, I have deepened my gratitude for being part of this incredible community. I am enjoying getting to know your students, and I love having the opportunity to interact with each of you as well before and after school. You are such an integral part of the school’s success, and I appreciate the time you take to come speak with me. This week we sent home a parent LCAP survey to help elicit some input from all of you. Quite simply, we would love to hear about what we are currently doing well with so we can continue to focus on that. And equally important, we would love to learn about your hopes and dreams for your students so we can also support that. If you haven’t done so already, please take a moment to complete the survey to ensure your voice and ideas are heard.

Student safety is always at the forefront of all of our planning, and we could use some help with student supervision before and after school. If you are interested in helping with supervision, we currently have open employment opportunities for playground supervisors. If you are interested, or know of anyone who is, please come into the office to speak with us!

With respect to safety, we need your continued support with our after school dismissal procedures. Important Dismissal Procedures:
- For safety, please make sure your child is loading the car from the passenger side of the vehicle.
- To help the efficiency of pick-up, please do not exit your car to look for your child.
- If you have a student in kindergarten, you must pick them up directly from their teacher. Please park your car and pick up your child from their teacher.

We are still looking for support with our Running Club. Running Club will be held every Wednesday morning from 8:15-8:45. The students run laps around the field with a running card to earn rewards for 5, 10, 25, 50 miles. We would love volunteers to help out on Wednesday mornings to help pass out and mark cards ,and monitor/cheer on the runners on the field. If you are interested in volunteering for Running Club, please sign up here.

Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair will be here from October 7th - 11th. In order to help ensure this is a successful event, we could use your help! With Scholastic, all volunteers will receive teacher book credits. Please use this link to sign up!
